From my perspective (as a cultural anthropologist), virtual meetings are truly only in their infancy.

Many people have been experimenting. Some for well over a decade. But it looks to me like 2009 in going to be the time when human needs to connect, the financial realities related to costs, and the imperative to reduce the carbon footprint we’re leaving with our business (and personal) travel are really heating up the conversation.

Coordinating and mastering – hardware that works, simple, cross-platform compatible software, and new communication habits – isn’t simple.

I’m focused on helping people rethink their communication habits – regardless of which tools they decide to use for virtual meetings. The time is ripe for us to collaborate in creative ways to help all kinds of people make this transition all over the globe. That excites me!
